is awarded to

Asimina Arvanitaki

"I am extremely humbled to have received this award. It’s always special to be recognized by your scientific peers, and I would like to thank both the Canadian Association of Physicists and TRIUMF from the bottom of my heart." winner citation

The Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) and TRIUMF are pleased to announce that the 2022 CAP-TRIUMF Vogt Medal for Contributions to Subatomic Physics is awarded to Asimina Arvanitaki, Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, in recognition of her innovative contributions to a number of areas of fundamental physics and in particular for identifying experiments that could test the underlying physics. announcement

Asimina Arvanitaki is a highly innovative theoretician, a pioneer in “tabletop physics,” who has proposed small-scale experiments that complement work at larger-scale particle physics facilities.

Arvanitaki’s theoretical work has contributed to research on supersymmetry, string theory, dark matter, and black holes. Her strategic, creative approach has positioned her at the forefront of the search for new forces and particles that would complete and extend the Standard Model. nominator citation
