The Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce that the 2017 CAP Award for Excellence in Teaching High School/CEGEP Physics (Quebec and Nunavut) is awarded to Luc Tremblay, Collège Mérici, in recognition of his innovative work on physics course materials that have influenced physics students and teachers worldwide. announcement

Luc Tremblay, who has been teaching physics since 1994, won the Honourable Mention of the Association qu�b�coise de p�dagogie coll�giale in 2011 and the Award of the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Science in 2014. The course notes that he posted online are read all around the world and are used in other educational institutions, including universities. With his hybrid approach made of traditional methods and conceptual issues, Mr. Tremblay has also introduced a problem-centered approach in a science integration course. He has also been the coordinator of the natural sciences program for nine years and participated twice, as an expert, to the work of the Commission d��valuation de l�enseignement coll�gial. He is also involved in his college students' life, in sport activities like cosom hockey, in cultural activities such as the improvisation league or in scientific activities like the guidance of students in science competitions, the chess club or the demonstration of the law of gravity with pumpkins at Halloween.
