The Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce that the 2015 CAP Award for Excellence in Teaching High School/CEGEP Physics (Prairies and Northwest Territories) is awarded to Patrick Kossmann, Greenall High School, in recognition of for his creative work in encouraging students to learn physics. A Physics teacher and a drama coach, his classes are engaging and enjoyable, while maintaining top standards of academic excellence. announcement
Patrick Kossmann has been the Physics teacher at Greenall High School in Balgonie, SK for the last 14 years. During that time he has provided material for text book publication, written curricula for a locally developed Robotics course, helped plan several provincial Math and Science Conferences, run the Regional Science Fair(s) along with be a part of the 2010 Saskatchewan/Manitoba Iron Scientist team. In addition to being a dedicated science teacher Patrick has found the time to be an award winning coach drama coach and regularly takes students to competitions in Improv and Once One Act drama. nominator citation
