The Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) is pleased to announce that the 2025 CAP Medal for Excellence in Teaching Undergraduate Physics is awarded to Nancy Forde, Simon Fraser University, in recognition of her contributions to enhancing the learning experience of her students through innovative teaching methods, involvement in curriculum development, and an impressive record of undergraduate research mentorship. announcement
Prof. Nancy Forde is nominated for her tireless work and dedication to make physics accessible to students at all levels, for creating an innovative Biophysics program at SFU and sharing the curriculum she developed with the greater physics community. This award recognizes her for developing and promoting practices of inclusive, interdisciplinary, curiosity-driven undergraduate learning, and for mentoring and supervising many undergraduate students, leading them to high achievements in physics.
